What does it take to get this new Seal / Lid on this Tupperware Bowl? A Hammer?

What does it take to get this new Seal / Lid on this Tupperware Bowl? A Hammer?

Your all excited about getting your new Tupperware containers. You open the box and examine it and think the color is so pretty. Now you wash it and store it. Well, now you need it. Take it out the cupboard and fill only to fine that the seal don’t fit. So you thinking well I must have done something wrong and you try it again with no luck.

Now your mad. The dang seal will not fit this bowl. Now what do I do?

Call Tupperware? Nope.

You run a sink of hot water, as hot as your water will get. Then submerge the lids. I sit a heavy glass on them, to hold them down in the water or they will just float on the top of the water. Leave them in a minute or two. Now take them out of the water one at a time and put them on the container. CAUTION: the Seals are HOT. I use a set of tongs to grab them from the hot water. Now the seal will go on easy. Don’t rinse or dry first because you want the lid to be hot and wet. This will cause the seal to form to the bowl for an air tight and liquid tight seal. Once the seals have cooled off and are cold you can remove them. Now your seals should fit, wonderfully. If not repeat the process, but once is usually enough.

This procedure works on all Tupperware containers, bowls, tumbler, ice tups and lollitups seals.

Just a bit of information that I found useful. Thought I’d pass it along.

I have an older Tupperware cake carrier and I have a hard time getting the lid to snap on the base of the carrier, is their a fix for this?

    Thank you

    • Hello Linda,

This is the procedure we use on all of the new Tupperware products.

I’m not sure if it will work on the older products made from the harder plastics. You can call our Customer Care department at 1-888-921-7395 and they can answer most any question.

      Sincerely,
      Debra
